Subtle Residential Minimalism

Have you ever felt the urge to simplify not only your workspace, interior, but the whole idea of your lifestyle? The need to get rid of things that do not serve you practically or aesthetically usually begins at your desk or kitchen, then it turns to closet, storage rooms, and if the hustle doesn’t stop there, one can find themselves wanting to simplify the whole house or apartment interior as well. Even imagining of having a space with crisp clean furniture, light uncluttered rooms and timeless design items can give you an uplift for the day. Pinch me if I’m still dreaming. Today’s post is featuring the work of a great new designer with loads of potential – David Flack, from Flack Studio. The minimalist, modern and very stylish home you’ll see just below is described by the designer himself:

“If walls could talk, the rooms of this Victorian terrace could tell a story or two about the house’s incarnations over its lifetime. Moving on from a 1990s renovation, we focused on the bathroom, lounge and bedrooms, with the kitchen to be transformed in due course when the demands of welcoming a newborn to the family have settled. The scheme’s backdrop is subtle. Soft taupe and white is complemented by natural, textural materials, including linen curtains, American oak joinery, and a custom bamboo and silk stair runner, and graphically punctuated with flashes of brass and black steel.”

So there you go – a subtle, soft and modern home with some artisan design elements, that grab your attention and make you think about a simplified interior, and simplified lifestyle.
